Carson City Public Works Department will host two open houses Monday for the public to see the initial designs for the Downtown Streetscape Improvements that are now 30 percent complete.

The open houses run from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and again from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center.

Members of the community are encouraged attend and experience the beginning of the new Downtown look and feel. Between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. City officials and members of the design team will be available to answer questions for anyone unable to attend one of the open house sessions.

The Downtown Streetscape Improvements project is one of the Capital Improvement Projects approved by the City and is estimated to cost approximately $10-11 million and funded from a 1/8th cent sales tax and Public Works funding. Construction is scheduled to begin early next year.
