Nevada 150
The Nevada 150 Foundation is continuing the Sesquicentennial legacy by donating hundreds of books and merchandise to state museums and state park gift shops and state and county libraries across Nevada.
More than 100 copies of “Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State,” are being donated to public libraries throughout Nevada. Most of the books have been delivered and are now available to check out at most state and county libraries across the state. The remaining books will be delivered by the end of this month.
The book, published by Stephens Press and distributed by the University of Nevada Press, is the official commemorative book of the Nevada Sesquicentennial. More than 70 Nevada writers captured the state’s rich history, diverse culture and amazing places. Their words are complemented by hundreds of photographs depicting Nevada’s gritty past, desert vistas and urban splendor.
Gifts shops at state museums and parks also received donations of Nevada 150 merchandise to sell including “Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State,” the Sesquicentennial belt buckle and the popular historic playing cards. This donation provides another way for people to acquire a piece of Nevada’s Sesquicentennial history.

ABOUT NEVADA 150
Nevada’s Sesquicentennial, the 150th anniversary of Nevada’s admission to the Union, provided opportunities for celebration and reflection as we came together statewide to commemorate our shared history and build a foundation of cultural appreciation for generations to come. Nevada’s one of a kind and diverse history was celebrated throughout the state for an entire year in order to promote pride in the shared heritage of all Nevadans. Nevada’s Sesquicentennial celebration commenced on Nevada Day 2013 and concluded with an expanded Nevada Day celebration October 2014.
