Wallace Knox Bennett, aged 82, passed away on June 8th, 2025. He was born April 17th, 1943 in South San Francisco, CA to Wayland and Ann Bennett.
Wally served in the Air Force for two years. He moved to Carson City in 1965. In 1967 he went to work for Carson City Fire Department where he moved up in the ranks and eventually became State Fire Marshal. He also worked for the State Industrial Insurance and retired from the Department of Transportation.
Wally is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Hugh, Albert, and Carl.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years Karen, daughter and son in law Andrea and John Doran, and his two granddaughters Elizabeth and Corine.
His faith in God, love and support of family and friends, and great medical staff got him through 22 years of battling cancer. Now, God has taken him by his right hand and led him to peach and tranquility. For now, we have our memories until one day we are united once again.
A funeral service will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Carson City on June 27th at 11:00 a.m. A reception to follow in Chartz Hall.
