Who built Carson City? Who struck it rich? Who landed in jail? And what did Nevada’s capital look like before paved streets, traffic lights, and smartphones?
The Carson City Historical Society invites the community to join local historian Jed Block for Through the Lens of Time: A Historic Photo Roundup of Carson City on Saturday, June 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Nevada Room at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive.
Using rare historic photographs and engaging storytelling, Block will take attendees on a fascinating journey through Carson City’s past, exploring the people, places, triumphs, scandals, and everyday moments that shaped Nevada’s capital city.
Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a history enthusiast, or simply curious about the stories hiding in plain sight around town, this entertaining presentation promises plenty of surprises and more than a few “I never knew that!” moments.
Tickets are $20 for the general public and $10 for Carson City Historical Society members. This special America250 program serves as a fundraiser for the Carson City Historical Society, with proceeds supporting the organization’s ongoing efforts to preserve and share the history of Carson City.
Tickets and additional information are available at CCHistorical.org or by calling 775-315-9111.
Come curious. Leave with a few great stories and a deeper appreciation for the city we call home.
