Update 5:30 p.m.: A second crash was reported in the same area of I580 near College Parkway where the backed up traffic was occurring an hour ago. First responders are enroute to the scene. It’s unclear if traffic is moving at this time.

If you have the option, you should seek an alternate route or wait until the crash site has been cleared.

As of 4:30 p.m:, traffic heading northbound from Carson to Reno is backed up due to what appears to have been a car fire just over the hill in Washoe Valley.

There does not appear to be an active fire, and traffic is moving, but very slow.
