The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has provided an update on a vehicle burglary and credit card fraud case in which the suspects have now been identified, and one apprehended.

“Due to numerous tips from the public and partnering law enforcement agencies both suspects have been identified,” said Detective Sam Hatley.

The first suspect, Stephen Barns, was arrested by Lyon County Sheriffs Office in the late afternoon on Thursday, May 23 on Thorne Avenue in Fernley.

The second suspect is identified as Richard “Ricky” Jager. Ricky Jager is currently wanted as a probation absconder with the State of Nevada Department of Public Safety Division of Parole and Probation.

Anyone with information on Jager’s whereabouts are encouraged to call their local law enforcement agency or the Parole and Probation Fugitive apprehension unit at (775) 684-2600.

“The Carson City Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public’s assistance in identifying these suspects,” said Detective Hatley.

Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $500 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.
