On Saturday, May 17, Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team detectives learned of a location for a wanted subject, Jeffery Williams, who has two active felony warrants — eluding and a Parole and Probation Priority 5 warrant — as well as a Carson City Justice Court misdemeanor warrant for Department of Alternative Sentencing violation.
Carson City Sheriff’s SET and Lyon County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to make contact with Jeffery on Cemetery Road near the river. Williams was inside of his white GMC pickup and drove toward an unmarked SET patrol vehicle.
Upon confirmation it was Jeffery Williams, SET detectives turned on their emergency lights and siren and tried to get him to stop. Instead, Willams erratically put his truck in reverse and sped off up a hill. Carson City Sheriff’s SET and Lyon County deputies pursued Willams as he drove erratically through the hills of Lyon County, up toward Silver City area ending toward the river near Eureka Canyon.
During the pursuit, Williams drove at a high rate of speed in the opposite lanes of traffic and attempted to drive his vehicle at a Lyon County sheriff’s deputy.
Deputies located the man’s white GMC abandoned near the river and were unable to locate Williams. Drones were deployed from Carson City STAR as well as Lyon County deputies with no signs of movement.
Carson City Sheriff’s Office asks the public to call Carson City Dispatch (775-887-2018) if they see Jeffery Williams as he is still currently wanted for his active warrants.
