Brewery Arts Center

Music fills the 3 halls of the Brewery Arts Center every week, but this week will bring the biggest musical events in recent BAC history. Great original live music will fill the Performance Hall Thursday and Friday as nationally touring bands, Southern Drawl Band and Peter Joseph Burtt and The King Tide come to Carson City for the first time.

Thursday, May 21, is The Southern Drawl Band based out of Nashville and Knoxville, Tenn. Southern Drawl is recognized by Country Music Television as one of the nation’s hottest emerging bands. A must-see, swampy grit of modern country combined with a rockin’ your face off stage performance. Carson City is the only Nevada stop on Southern Drawl Band’s coast to coast tour.

Friday May 22, The Carson City Downtown Business Association presents Peter Joseph Burtt & The King Tide out of Kings Beach and San Francisco.

Upon graduating music school in San Francisco, Peter studied the blues from the traditional musicians of West Africa and blends those world rhythms into a memorable combination of Blues, Rock, Reggae with hauntingly soulful lyrics. Playing traditional African instruments, the Kora and Marimba, there will be a short talk about his experiences in Africa and the instruments he plays before the show.

Both Shows begin at 7pm at the Performance Hall in the old church on the campus of the Brewery Arts Center. Tickets are $20 the day of with discounts online for advance purchase, members, Seniors/Students, and as always, Kids 10 and under are FREE to all musical events.
