The new Carl's Jr on South Carson Street taken May 7, 2025

After Arnulfo’s closed in 2023, fast food fans rejoiced after a sign went up on the vacant restaurant in December 2023 stating Carl’s Jr would be “coming soon.”

However, “soon” was relative, and updates were few and infrequent. Work officially began in September 2024, and at that time applicant Miranda Brake said the restaurant was finishing up permitting.

According to job listings on Indeed, the restaurant is currently hiring for a number of positions including cashiers, a district manager, assistant manager, general manager, opener, cooks, and shift leads.

Pay information is not provided in the job listings, although it states the assistant manager position is salaried, so long as the individual is able to work a 50-hour work week.

According to average salary responses, cook prices range from $7.30 to $22.05 an hour with an average of $14.51; assistant manager positions range from $9.30 to $28 with an average of at $18.59; shift managers range from $8.50 to $26.25 with an average of $16.78; and general managers range from $30k to $92 k per year, with an average of $60,883.

Despite these positions still being open on Indeed, Carl’s Jr is reported to be opening this coming Monday. When speaking with the applicant designer, Miranda Brake, she said that that timeline “sounded correct,” and permits had been approved for some time, but that she was the designer on the project, not the franchise owner.

A sign on the door Wednesday stated that “training is in progress.”
