Multi-use pathways across Carson City will soon be getting an upgrade with construction beginning May 5, 2025. The Carson City Multi-Use Pathway Project includes the construction and rehabilitation of various pathways, including the Linear Ditch Trail, Route 6 along the freeway and wastewater treatment plant, the pathway along Saliman Road, south of Seeliger Elementary School, and the V&T Trail at the intersection of Ash Canyon Road and Longview Way. Pedestrian and bicycle detours will be provided.
The $1.3 million project is funded through a federal Transportation Alternative Program Grant that provides funding specifically for projects like this one.
Construction on the project begins May 5, 2025, and will continue through the summer. Different areas will be affected at different times. The following is a list of the areas and the estimated start date for the work. All dates are subject to change.
- Greenbelt Spur – May 5, 2025
- Sidewalk along Roop Street and Governor’s Field – Mid-May
- V&T Trail at Ash Canyon Road and Longview Way – Late June
- Saliman between Sonoma Street and Kingsley Lane – July
- Route 6 between Airport Road and Butti Way – August
- Route 6 Linear Ditch – Mid-August
