UPDATE: Carson City fire and rescue and Care Flight responded to a traffic accident with injuries this afternoon at the intersection of Highway 50 East and Airport Road.
The accident was a rear-end type collision involving a blue Toyota and a white truck. The accident was reported at 2:39 p.m. At least two people were injured, one being an adult male, 44. The patient was flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno, according to dispatch.
The accident happened in the eastbound travel lane. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada Highway Patrol also responded to the scene. The vehicles sustained medium to heavy damage, according to first responders on scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. The condition of those injured is unknown at this time.
