After a 12-year pause, Nevada Day, Inc. brought back its Wild West Easter Egg Hunt in a big way on Saturday at Livermore Sports Complex in Carson City.

Hundreds of children and parents were lined up in search of more than 5,000 candy-filled eggs set along the multiple athletic fields at the complex.

Festivities kicked off at 8 with the hunt beginning at 10 a.m. There was also tethered hot air balloon lifts, a live DJ, bicycle raffle, Easter Bunny photos and other festivities.

Egg hunt organizers said the weather was ideal for the event. Also on hand were art vendors, the Carson City Fire Department, the CERT team, Carson City Sheriff’s Reserves, Carson City Pop Warner, club athletic organizations and more. The event ran until noon Saturday.

Elsewhere, egg hunts are lined up at the Carson Aquatic Center, the Nevada Railroad Museum, local churches and at the Carson City Library and throughout the region.
