The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District-Sierra Front Field Office, has prepared the Spanish Springs Quarry Mineral Sales, Conveyor Belt and Access Road Right-of-Way, Environmental Assessment (EA) and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).

Martin Marietta Materials Inc. has submitted two applications to the BLM for review and approval: 1) to renew the Contract for Sale of Mineral Materials (application no. NVN087320), and 2) to obtain a right-of-way authorization (application no. NVN078985) for the construction and operation of an aggregate conveyor belt and associated access road.

The project area is adjacent to Sha-Neva Road, east of Pyramid Highway in Washoe County, Nevada.

The EA assess the potential direct and indirect effects on the human environment associated with these proposals.

Comments on the Spanish Springs Quarry Mineral Sales, Conveyor Belt and Access Road Right-of-Way Environmental Assessment (DOI-BLM-NV-C020-2011-0005-EA) will be accepted until April 28, 2011.
