A 21-year-old transient was arrested early Wednesday morning in the 2200 block of North Carson Street for suspicion of possession of a dangerous weapon and burglary tools, both gross misdemeanor offenses, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The suspect also faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of pre-trial supervision. According to the arrest report, a deputy was investigating a report of a prowler in the area. The deputy was given a description of the man and located him in the parking area of a restaurant.

The officer detained the man, who had a pocket knife on him as well as an item, he told the deputy, was a large knife in his left pant leg. The man asked the officer to remove the knife which turned out to be a large black machete that fell from his pants, according to the arrest report.

The suspect was checked for warrants. It was learned he was under supervision of Alternative Sentencing with an “obey all laws” clause. The deputy advised Alternative Sentencing that a machete was found in the pant leg of the man. While conducting a in-custody search of the man’s backpack, officers located numerous tools, flashlights, bolt cutters, gloves and a red bandana, all associated commonly with burglary tools. Bail: $8,000.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 3:15 p.m. in the 4600 block of Ponderosa Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to a domestic battery in progress. The officer made contact with the suspect and a female who was across the street at a neighbor’s residence. the suspect was cooperative but had been drinking. The officer didn’t see any injuries on the suspect, who stated he and his girlfriend were arguing and they did push each other while in the laundry room.

The deputy then spoke with the victim, who had visible redness, swelling and bruising on her left arm, from her forearm to her shoulder. The woman claimed the man punched her several times in the arm and in the left jaw. The officer did not observe swelling on the woman’s face or cheek. The man was taken into custody for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 44-year-old Fallon man was arrested Tuesday, 11:59 p.m. in the area of Hot Springs Road and Sage Street for a misdemeanor warrant issued March 9, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $414.
