UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department knocked down a fire in front of a residence in the 4200 block of Pheasant Drive Sunday afternoon.
The fire was discovered at around 1 p.m. by someone outside the residence who called it in. Multiple engines responded. With wind gusts as they are, the fire could have been a lot worse, said CCFD Battalion Chief Chris Mason, adding the passerby who called it in as quickly as they did may have prevented the fire from spreading.
The fire started in the exterior of the home with minimal damage. The cause remains undetermined at this time, said Mason. It did not reach the interior.
A Carson City sheriff’s deputy advised that a front door was on fire and attempted to see if everyone was out of the residence. Firefighters arrived and knocked it down.
