Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Sunday afternoon for a report of a fire in the 3700 block of North Carson Street.

At around 4:10 p.m. Carson City dispatch reported a possible kitchen fire in a strip mall. Multiple fire trucks were called out and sheriff’s deputies were responding.

The fire was knocked down by the sprinkler system in the building, according to CCFD Battalion Chief Micah Horton. Smoke was ventilated from the building. There were no injuries.

According to scanner traffic, monitored by Eastern Sierra Fire and Ice, the fire smoked up the building and apparently set off the sprinkler system.
