An inmate in the Carson City jail was booked Friday on a felony charge of battery by a prisoner after allegedly punching a fellow inmate in the face during breakfast, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Carlos Contreras admitted on video and audio that he physically punched the inmate several times in the face during an argument at breakfast. Video of the incident at 5:14 a.m. was reviewed and confirmed. The victim had a puffy black eye from the incident.
In other arrests:
— A 31-year-old Oregon woman, Ashley Ambrose, was booked into jail on a felony attempted theft warrant. She also had a parole and probation warrant. She’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrest Sunday 2 a.m. in the parking lot of the Carson City Jail on suspicion of battery after allegedly spitting in the face of a Carson City Fire Department member who was taking the suspect to the hospital. Bail: $1,137.
— A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 8:40 p.m. on two contempt of court warrants issued Feb. 26, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $392.
