A new antiques and collectibles store has opened on Carson Street in Carson City, offering items of bygone eras.

Pastime Antiques and Collectibles opened up shop at 1811 N. Carson Street, near the old Grocery Outlet building in the A to Zen shopping center, offering curated items in their 2000-square-foot store.

“There are 15 vendors, including myself,” said owner Mary Perkins. “We have an eclectic variety of antiques and other treasures that appeal to a range of shoppers.”

Mary has always been a collector herself, with experience in the antiques and collectibles trade.

Mary’s husband grew up in Carson City, and the couple moved back from Sparks to retire. Mary came up with the idea for Pastime after she began selling a large antique lamp collection that was left to her by her father after he passed.

“I was very successful disseminating that and thought, ‘I think I could do this with my own stuff’,” said Mary. “I proposed the idea to my husband so we could downsize anything we had that our children didn’t want and the rest is history.”

Pastime is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
