City Manager Nancy Paulson announced she plans to retire from the city on June 30, 2025.
Paulson became city manager in December 2018, after serving as interim city manager since June of that same year. Prior to her appointment, Paulson celebrated 20 years with the city serving in a number of capacities including deputy city manger, chief financial officer, and within the auditing department.
During today’s Carson City Board of Supervisors work session, supervisors will discuss the selection process to fill the vacancy, which could include:
- the appointment of Deputy City Manager Stephanie Hicks, who has served in the position since 2019, as Paulson’s successor;
- the solicitation of applications from local and/or nationwide candidates; or
- another recruitment method as determined but the board.
