
A fire that started Wednesday east of Bishop in Inyo County, Calif., and had threatened more than 150 structures, was 55 percent contained as of Sunday morning, having burned approximately 4,136 acres, according to CalFire.
Evacuation orders for the Big Pine area have been lifted. Warm Springs Road east of Highway 395 remains closed, according to CalFire on Sunday morning.
Firefighters will continue to mop-up and reinforce containment lines throughout the day and night in preparation for anticipated weather changes in the coming days, according to CalFire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. There are 680 personnel assigned to the fire with 16 crews on the ground. Equipment includes three helicopters, 51 engines, seven dozers, 8 water tenders.
