A 23-year-old man was arrested Saturday for two counts suspicion of misdemeanor violation of a domestic violence temporary protection order and a Department of Alternative Sentencing violation, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.

At 9:58 a.m. Saturday a Carson City sheriff’s deputy was dispatch to the CCSO front counter on Musser Street. A woman was reporting that her ex-boyfriend had been violating, by telephone, a domestic violence protection order.

The man had contacted the victim via text messages, Facebook and on the telephone. The officer was shown the messages. A deputy went to the man’s address. His mother said he had left and provided his telephone number, the report states.

The deputy called the man who said he could meet at his mother’s house in 10 minutes. The deputy asked the man if he had reached out to the reporting party. He said he did not. He said he was arrested in January 2025 for violating the stay-away order but has not reached out since the release, the report states.

The deputy told the man they had seen messages where he had reached out to the woman via text messages and Facebook. The man told the deputy he had not and that they could look through his phone for the messages. The officer asked the man if he used a different Facebook profile to reach out to the woman and he said no and gave consent to search through his Facebook app, the report states.

The deputy located a Facebook entry with the only person on it, the victim. Dispatch advised the Department of Alternative Sentencing wanted to place a hold on the man for violating bail/pre-trail supervision. He was taken to jail and released to detention staff.

A few hours later, the arresting deputy was notified by the detention sergeant that the man had made six calls to the victim since being in custody. The deputy requested the man to step out of the booking cell. He was read his Miranda warning. He said he understood and wished to speak.

The deputy asked why he called the woman while in custody. The man closed his eyes and nodded his head. The officer told the man he was violating the stay-away order again. The deputy told the man he would be charged with another violation of a domestic violence temporary protection order. He nodded his head and returned to the booking cell. Bail: $3,000 and $3,000 cash for the DAS violation.
