Carson City Dutch Bros. owners, Andy and Jill Head (right), present a check in the amount for $1,200 to Laurie Gorris, Chief Professional Officer, and Cliff Sorensen, Board Member, of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada.
The money was raised during the month of December through customer donations and Dutch Bros.’ annual Buck for Kids Day.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada in association with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America participate in the National IJTO campaign. The “It Just Takes One” is a campaign developed to help raise proceeds to aid the clubs across the nation meet their goals in educating, caring, and providing a safe and rewarding environment for the youth of our communities.
According to Cliff Sorensen, “We have taken it a step closer to heart and have asked local businesses to team up with us each month and ask their customers, on our behalf, if they would like to donate to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada to help defray the costs of tuition for those who cannot afford to pay.’ Although it costs the Club $500.00 per year, per child, we only charge $30.00, and no child is ever turned away for their inability to pay. This donation will allow the Club to serve 40 kids, giving them the foundation to lead a more enriching life.
