There are multiple road closures on US-95 Alternate in the Yerington area and across the region due to gusty winds and blowing dust across the highway causing visibility issues on roadways, according to Nevada State Police.
Sgt. Chris Brown with Nevada State Police says visibility reported in some areas is less than 10 feet and advises motorists be prepared for closures and delays.
The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Blowing Dust Advisory in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday night for the Western Nevada Basin and including Southern Lyon and Mineral counties and a High Wind Warning in effect until 10 p.m. Monday throughout western Nevada.

Damaging winds, difficult travel, power outages, blown objects, and elevated wave heights on Lake Tahoe are expected. Winds are out of the southwest, 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 65 mph. The warning will continue until 10 p.m. Monday. Widespread power outages are anticipated. Travel is difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Meanwhile, some power outages continue around western Nevada, including more that 1,600 without power in Washoe County, according to NV Energy.
The active pattern continues through this week with periods of heavy precipitation and strong gusty winds, according to the weather service.
Accumulating snowfall with this storm system remains confined to the higher elevations above 8,000 feet. Periods of rain at lower elevations will lead to rises in rivers and smaller streams.
