Learn about an important event in world history from someone who experienced it first hand at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting. Trace Stanton, author of Stay and Die, will share his experience working on an Iranian military base during the Islamic Resolution, at the next club meeting.
The public is invited to attend the luncheon which takes place Tuesday, Feb. 3, at noon in the Brewery Art Center’s Grand Ballroom.
Stanton will share his amazing experience as a Helicopter Maintenance Instructor on an Iranian military base near the Iraq border. Amid escalating political chaos, Stanton witnessed the Iranian soldiers’ dramatic shift first fighting against the revolutionaries, then joining them.
He will give attendees a rare look at life during that tumultuous period which included the fall of the Shah and the hostage crisis and a powerful historical account.
Anyone interested in attending should email carsoncitynvrotary@gmail.com. The Brewery Arts Center is located at 449 West King Street, Carson City.
