A 39-year-old man was arrested early Friday for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
At around 1:33 a.m. a CCSO deputy was in the area of Stewart and Telegraph streets when they observed a vehicle make a wide turn from a private parking to onto Telegraph then continued eastbound on Telegraph toward Stewart Street.
The deputy was facing westbound on Telegraph and observed the vehicle over the stop line at Telegraph and Stewart. Seeing this, the deputy activated their dash camera and followed the vehicle southbound on Stewart.
While following the vehicle the deputy observed it swerve into the eastbound turn lane at Stewart and East Fifth. The deputy continued to follow the vehicle and noticed the rear license plate light was not functioning, according to the report.
The deputy activated their emergency overhead lights at East Fifth and Roop Street. The driver continued to drive eastbound on East 5th passing five other cross streets before making a final stop at East Fifth and Parkland Avenue.
The deputy made contact with the driver who identified himself from a Nevada driver’s license. While speaking, the officer could smell an odor of alcohol coming from his person. The deputy also observed the man had thick slurred speech and red, watery eyes, the report states.
The deputy asked the man if he had been drinking. He advised he had consumed a couple of alcoholic beverages and had been at a bar. The deputy asked him to step out of his vehicle, which he complied. As he stepped out the man slightly swayed as he was standing still, the report states. The man was asked if he was willing to perform standardized field sobriety tests. The man agreed. He advised he consumed two beers and a shot of liquor with his last drink an hour ago prior, the report states. The officer asked when he stopped drinking. The man advised 8 p.m.
The man showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .182. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and read the voluntary evidence testing. He agreed to give breath samples. The man provided breath samples of .159 and .175. Bail: $1,137.

— A 31-year-old Fallon man was booked Wednesday into Carson City Jail for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Oct. 15, 2025 out of Carson City Township. Bail: $5,000 cash.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Bail: $2,500.
— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of driving with a revoked license and Department of Alternative Sentencing violation, which included conditions to obey all laws and drive with a valid driver’s license. Bail: $1,000 cash.
