A controlled burned is happening today, Wednesday, in the Sunrise Pass area east of Minden-Tahoe Airport, according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center.
Dispatchers from Douglas and Carson City have been receiving phone calls inquiring about the burn, happening on eight acres of Bureau of Land Management land.
Controlled burns are also happening this week around the Lake Tahoe Basin along the east and north shore. Go here for the map and information about those burns.
