With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930’s New York City. Annie is determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan.
Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, finding a new home and a family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
Annie, Jr. features the talents of over 50 local youth grades K-12, both onstage and off.
Leading the cast are Arya Hyde and Evelyn Furlong as Annie, Isaac Coulsey as Oliver Warbucks, and Aven McColl and Jocelyn Pedersen as Miss Hannigan.
Also featured are Lilliahna McColl and Maika Adkins as Grace Farrell, Roman Carlo Gonzales and Jackson Hendee as Rooster, Kyla Olsen and Paige Cardoza as Lily, Zachary Etter as Sandy, as well as a host of orphans, servants and New Yorkers bringing the world of 1930s New York City to life.
Unique to this production, Youth Theatre Carson City has employed the talents of several new young collaborators on their creative team including student directors Benjamin Achoka, Jocelyn Pedersen, and Katarina Sweet, and sound technician Kylie Carrigan.
“I am so proud of all of the hard work these incredible young people have put into bringing this production to the stage,” commented Andie Wilkerson, Artistic Director of Youth Theatre Carson City and Director of Annie, Jr. “Each and every cast member shines on the stage, and I cannot wait to share their incredible performances with our audiences. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful young people in our community.”
