By Elinor Bugli — Calling singers! The Carson Chamber Singers, a performing group of the Carson City Symphony Association, is beginning rehearsals for their spring concerts on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Weekly rehearsals are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the LDS Church, 411 N. Saliman Road in Carson City. Carson Chamber Singers, directed by Western Nevada College (WNC) professor, Dr. Gary Schwartz, is open to singers high-school age and above.

The first concerts of 2025 will focus on American composers including William Billings, Amy Beach, Aaron Copland, Stephen Paulus, Morten Lauridsen, Pulitzer Prize winner Shulamit Ran, and more. concert dates and will be on Friday, April 25, at 7:00 p.m. at Shepherd of the Sierra Lutheran Church, and on Saturday, April 26, at 4:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, in Carson City.

Founded in 1985 as an affiliate of the Carson City Symphony Association, the Carson Chamber Singershave sung at several venues in northern Nevada and in California. They have sung with the Reno Philharmonic and perform regularly with the Carson City Symphony.
