Intermittent lane reductions will take place on U.S. 50 in Dayton Jan. 21-31 as the Nevada Department of Transportation fills age-related cracking of the roadway surface.
As part of a rolling work zone, single lane closures will take place 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. weekdays Jan. 21-31 on sections of U.S. 50 between State Route 341 and Fortune Drive.
One lane will be reduced in one-mile sections at a time.
Motorists are advised to leave extra travel time and to anticipate travel delays.
The road work schedule is subject to change. Potential lane reductions may also be seen on nearby sections of U.S. 50 in future weeks, depending on weather.
As part of continuing routine roadway maintenance, NDOT is filling age-related cracking of the highway surface to provide a smoother driving surface.
In upcoming years, NDOT plans to resurface aging pavement on an adjoining section of U.S. 50 from Fortune Drive to east of Chaves Road, along with intersection and turn improvements.
