UPDATE: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said a man with possible mental health and drug issues was arrested Tuesday night after jumping the fence at Mark Twain Elementary.

The man had been staying with friends and they got into an argument, said Furlong. The man, who had two bullets on him, climbed the fence into the playground.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the school for a welfare check.

“Because it was nighttime, deputies returned to the school (Wednesday morning) to sweep the playground for any drugs, paraphernalia or anything that might draw harm to the kids,” said Furlong.

The man was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing.
