There is a prescribed fire happening this Monday afternoon at Empire Ranch Golf Course. Carson City dispatch notes it has been receiving numerous calls from citizens reporting a fire. The fire is a controlled burn done by the property and was, earlier, putting up a heavy amount of smoke.
As of 1:04 p.m. the burn was putting up a light amount of smoke. The controlled burn was being conducted by the property owner and may continue through the week as conditions allow, according to the Carson City Fire Department.
