Join the Brewery Arts Center this Thursday for Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night in Carson City. The non-denominational holiday tradition is where participants use their smartphones and portable speakers to play one of four interconnected compositions.

Dress up the kids and pups and come enjoy a fun and free event for the community, Tick Or Treating at MidTown Marketplace on Friday Oct. 27th from 3pm-7pm.

We will have over 30 indoor vendor booths that are decorated for Halloween and each one will be passing out candy for the kiddos and there will also be goodie bags for the pups!

MidTown Marketplace is located at 104 Corbett St.in Carson City.

St. Mary's Art Center hosts the fall art reception, showcasing the new fall exhibitions by Paula Saponaro and Pura Vida Sierras Art. This free event celebrates intriguing, powerful work that is relevant and thought-provoking.

Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities around the Carson City region. The American Cancer Society is hosting a poker run Saturday at Mills Park, and a free lacrosse clinic for kids ages 6-12 will be held at John L. Harvey Field. The Nevada Humane Society is virtually hosting its annual “Adopt a Duck” fundraiser for interested participants. Combined with train rides and live music, there’s plenty of excitement going on over the weekend! Read on for more information.

The free lacrosse clinic on August 29, 9 a.m. at the John L. Harvey Field located at Western Nevada College is filling up fast, so be sure to register! The High Sierra Lacrosse League and the Carson Capitols Lacrosse club are putting on this free event for boys and girls, ages 6-12.

The Mile High Jazz Band Association presents a jazz-related drive-in movie, “High Society,” on Wednesday, August 19, and Thursday, August 20, as part of the 2020 Jazz & Beyond Festival.

It will be shown in the parking lot of the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King Street, in Carson City. Admission is free. Show time is available when calling for reservations, which are required for each vehicle and can be made by calling 775-883-4154.

The Nevada State Archives is providing a free basic preservation workshop on March 12, 2020 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The training will cover preserving documents and photos, storage methods for various types of records, as well as information about electronic records. No previous experience is required; this training is open to anyone who might be interested. The training will be held at the Nevada State Library and Archives Building, 100 N. Carson Tahoe Care Center invites community members to grab their cameras and join residents and guests for pictures with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon. Capture the holiday spirit with personalized Santa photos, complete with a Winter Wonderland backdrop and holiday refreshments.

Partly sunny skies and cool temperatures are expected Thursday with a warmup in time for the weekend.
