Plenty of ways to stay warm on Parade Day
Here in Carson City, the Nevada Day Parade is a great event, rain or shine, snow, wind, or likely a combination of it all. This year, we are expecting a cold one. Have no fear, however, there will be plenty of places to grab some grub, coffee, hot chocolate, bloody marys, or shelter from the rain while you watch the balloons lift off at 8 a.m. or wait for the 10 a.m. parade.
Annual Pancake Breakfasts:
- Builders Alliance of Western Nevada will be at Red’s Old 395, 7 a.m. – 10 a.m., serving a pancake breakfast complete with: pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes with coffee, orange juice or hot cocoa. The bar will also be open for their deliciously famous Bloody Mary's and much more. All proceeds will be donated to B.A.W.N. Women's Council.
- Republican Women’s Pancake Breakfast at the Governor’s Mansion, 7 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Breakfast includes: pancakes, eggs, ham, orange juice and coffee. The Governor is often available for photos, and he hands out awards to local school children as part of the event. All proceeds go toward a $2,000 scholarship for two deserving students from Carson High and Dayton High.
