February gaming revenue down 11.9 percent in Carson City area, up 11.5 percent statewide

Carson City area casinos saw a 11.92 percent drop in February gaming revenue compared to February 2022, according to figures released Tuesday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Lake Tahoe's Hard Rock Hotel and Casino to become Golden Nugget

The Hard Rock in Lake Tahoe will soon be a Golden Nugget, according to an announcement today from Fertitta Entertainment, LLC.

The company, which also owns the Chart House chain and the Houston Rockets, announced they signed a purchase agreement to acquire the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada, including land and business situated on twenty-four acres from Paragon Gaming for an undisclosed price.

The transaction is expected to close within the next seven to twelve months, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) held its 74th annual meeting virtually on Tuesday, March 14, to announce the results of its Board of Directors election, give voice to members and recognize those who have held membership at the credit union for 35 years.

At the meeting, Chairman Rob Joiner and Director Marsha Burgess were reappointed to the GNCU Board of Directors and each will serve in their respective positions for another three-year term.

Carson City’s The Fox Brewery expanding to Reno; shows continued popularity of regional ‘brewpubs’

On Tuesday, Carson City’s The Fox Brewery and Pub announced an expansion into Reno, taking up residence at the previous Silver Peak Brewery and Restaurant in Midtown, located at 124 Wonder Street.

Silver Peak closed its doors in 2020 after 21 years in operation and will be given new life with the Fox.

December gaming revenue up statewide, down in Carson City and South Shore Tahoe

Carson City and south shore Lake Tahoe area gaming revenue was down in December compared to December 2021 figures. Statewide revenue, however, was up 14.30 percent.

Comma Coffee shut by Health Department, reports ‘severe’ mice infestation, expired food, cats living inside, and more
