Carson City and Virginia City gear up for this weekend's Mark Twain Days Festival
Mark Twain Days Festival returns this Friday through Sunday, May 10-12, with a bevy of events lined up for the second year of the festival, which is held in honor of Mark Twain, our region’s most famous writer.
This year's festival features a number of events, many of them the same as last year but much more as the festival is also partnering with Virginia City and will be connected by the Twain Train, which will take event goers from Carson City to Virginia City on the Virginia Truckee Railroad. The Nevada State Museum is getting ready for the kick-off of the 2nd Annual Mark Twain Days Festival in Visit Carson City and Virginia City happening Friday through Sunday, May 10-12. Also noteworthy, the museum will be host family friendly events, the Bow Tie Ball on Saturday evening, they will be minting the Mark Twain Medallion on Coin Press No. 1 over the weekend, and Saturday is free admission.
In Virginia City there will be tours at The Territorial Enterprise building in Virginia City during Mark Twain Days and more.
