SUMMARY:Nevada Artists Association Invitational 2025
DESCRIPTION:For Capital City Arts Initiative’s exhibition\, “Nevada Artists Association Invitational 2025”\, the organization shared art by 28 member artists who present a wide array of images and visions in their work. \n\n\n\nThe Invitational will be in the Community Center’s Crowell Board Room\, from February 24 – June 26\, 2025. CCAI will host a reception for the artists on Monday\, March 24\, 5:00 – 6:30PM with artists’ introductions at 5:30. The Community Center is located at 851 E William Street\, Carson City. The Crowell Board Room is open for all the city’s public meetings and upon request. \n\n\n\nThe participating artists include: Lana Boler\, Paula Rie Bonham\, Pam Brekas\, Jackie Pias Carlin\, Ken Clarke\, Kristy Dial\, Joanna Drakos\, Deborah Foster\, Deborah Graham\, Reta Hanks\, Mark Harris\, Cliff Helm\, Mariann Humphrey\, John Kallestad\, Debbie Lambin\, Laura Lawrence\, Bruce Nelson\, Heather Nicole\, Rick Pott\, Colleen Reynolds\, Katie Rosenquist\, Terri Russ\, Margaret Stillwell\, Andrew C. Strom\, Tabatha Theiss\, Lia Verkade\, John Warden Jr.\, and Wendy Whyman. \n\n\n\nNAA is a 501c(6) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing visual\, creative art to be shared with the community. It encourages a high standard of art through an ongoing series of art shows in its gallery for members and guest artists while offering workshops and outreach programs that are open to the public. In addition\, their gallery serves as a stop on the monthly First Saturday Wine Walk\, a popular program hosted by Carson City’s Downtown Business Association. \n\n\n\nThe Nevada Artists’ Association\, originally formed in 1950\, has been active in Carson City since 1979 at their gallery on the Brewery Arts Center’s campus\, 449 W. King Street. The NAA Gallery is open Tuesday – Sunday\, noon to 4pm. The organization presents membership shows as well as judged art shows\, each running about six weeks. NAA hosts artists receptions for each judged exhibit. The band will perform a variety of music including marches\, Music of Disneyland\, Back To The Future and Fugue On Yankee Doodle. \n\n\n\nThe band was founded in 1978 by Richard Doede and is currently conducted by Nick Jacques. \n\n\n\nThe concert is free and open to all members of our community and surrounding areas.  \n\n\n\nCome and join the band in celebrating 47 years of sharing music with our community and enjoy the music of the next generation of Carson City musicians. DESCRIPTION:The Capital Community Band\, under the direction of Nick Jacques\, will tie a big red bow around 2024 by presenting a Carson City holiday concert on Sunday\, Dec. 8\, 2024. \n\n\n\nEnjoy seasonal favorites\, marches\, and patriotic music played by our 50-member band. The free concert will be presented in the Boldrick Theater in the Carson Community Center at 2 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe concert will feature traditional and new Christmas songs\, including Christmas Vacation\, Bells Of Christmas\, music from The Nightmare Before Christmas\, Jingle Bell Fantasy\, and of course\, Sleigh Ride. \n\n\n\nThis concert is perfect for the whole family and a great way to begin your holiday season. And it is free! Donations are happily accepted. \n\n\n\nThe Capital City Community Band was founded in 1978 by Richard Doede as a venue for adult musicians in which to perform. Many of the members played in high school\, college\, and beyond\, professionally. Others began playing as adults. All the musicians\, including the director and soloists\, perform without monetary compensation.
