SUMMARY:Hollow Mountain Workshops: Where Curiosity Becomes Capability - April 27th thru May 30th 2026
DESCRIPTION:April 27 @ 4:30 pm – May 30 @ 12:30 pm \n\n\n\nWe believe that kids and teens have deep capacities for empathy\, intelligence\, and critical thinking\, but they are being hindered by factors like excessive screen time\, social isolation\, a lack of opportunities for growth\, and a disconnect not only from community but responsibilities to their community. \n\n\n\nKids need spaces where they can build and develop not just cool hobbies and academic skills\, but where they can dig deep into themselves to find truth and meaning. The concept of a Hollow Mountain comes right from our Comstock traditions: digging into the mountain to unearth the value that already exists within. \n\n\n\nVisit hollowmountainworkshops.org for more info! https://hollowmountainworkshops.org/ \n\n\n\nBrewery Arts Center; South Building; Drawing Studio449 W KING STCARSON CITY\, NV \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Unlock Your Inner Artist with Dana Childs - 4 Week Series on Wednesdays Starting May 6th
DESCRIPTION:10:00 am – 1:00 pm \n\n\n\n$100.00Get tickets: https://breweryarts.org/event/20260506-inner-artist/ \n\n\n\nCreate your own masterpieces in this open-ended art experience. If you’ve ever dreamed of working on an artistic project—whether it’s painting\, graphite\, pen and ink\, or even incorporating two- and three-dimensional textures or objects into your work of art—this is the workshop for you. This is a series of 4 workshops to give you the time and space to create your vision. \n\n\n\nOver the course of the past nearly 30 years\, Dana Childs has guided\, taught\, and facilitated courses and workshops that have helped produce professional artists as well as encouraged hobbyists to have the time of their lives and enjoy feeling successful. You can free the artist within you with as much or as little influence from outside as you desire. Weekly demonstrations serve to introduce or review basic art and design concepts\, as well as experimental strategies. You can either follow along or continue to work on your own project during the demonstrations. Most of the time will be dedicated to individual time to work on your own projects\, while Childs is there to offer assistance as needed. \n\n\n\nAbout the Artist“Variety is the spice of life!” declares the educationally eclectic Childs. She has been driven by an inexhaustible desire to learn\, and then to pass on that which she learns to others. “One of my greatest passions in life is to either keep the flame of our innate love for learning alive\, or to reignite this flame in the hearts of those whose flames have dwindled\, or been completely dowsed\,” says Childs. Whatever the subject matter\, she remains enthusiastic about sharing information & helping others build skills that will serve them and others well. \n\n\n\nWith 20+ years experience teaching watercolor as well as graphite and acrylic mediums\, Childs brings an in-depth understanding of how to connect with her students and pass on skills that empower her students to create to their hearts desire\, with amazing results. “My job\, if I do it well\, is to work myself out of a job\,” she says. \n\n\n\nDo you have questions? SUMMARY:Carson City Classic Cinema Collective Presents: Classic Sci-Fi Masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey to Screen at the Brewery Arts Center
DESCRIPTION:Carson City\, NV — Film lovers and science fiction enthusiasts will have a chance to experience one of cinema’s most influential works on the big screen later this month\, as 2001: A Space Odyssey returns for a special screening at the Brewery Arts Center. \n\n\n\nPresented by Carson City Classic Cinema Collective (C5)\, the event invites audiences to revisit—or discover for the first time—Stanley Kubrick’s groundbreaking 1968 epic\, widely regarded as one of the most important films ever made. Known for its stunning visuals\, haunting score\, and philosophical exploration of humanity’s place in the universe\, 2001 continues to shape the science fiction genre more than five decades after its release. \n\n\n\nThe screening will take place on Thursday\, April 30\, in the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.\, with the film beginning at 7:30 p.m. \n\n\n\nC5 organizers emphasize that the film is best experienced in a communal\, theatrical setting—where its immersive sound design and sweeping imagery can be fully appreciated. The event is part of the group’s ongoing mission to celebrate classic cinema while fostering thoughtful discussion among local audiences. \n\n\n\nThis isn’t just a movie—it’s an experience! Seeing 2001 on the big screen allows audiences to connect with it in a way that simply can’t be replicated at home. \n\n\n\nThe screening is open to the public and is expected to draw both longtime cinephiles and curious newcomers eager to witness a film that helped redefine what movies could achieve. \n\n\n\nFor those ready to take the journey\, the invitation is simple: see it big—and talk it out. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Being Creative with Ceramic Clay - Session 3 is a 5 Week Series on Thursdays - Beginning April 16th
DESCRIPTION:5:30 pm – 9:30 pm \n\n\n\n$150.00 Get tickets: https://breweryarts.org/event/20260416-creative-with-clay/ \n\n\n\nSession 3 is a continuation of our creative series clay class. In this workshop we will explore the sculptural side of hand building through 2 engaging projects. The first will be a demonstrative piece to get your creativity flowing and the second piece will be student choice. We will go over sculptural practices the first day of class and there will be many options to choose from for the students’ choice. \n\n\n\nIf you didn’t join us for the first 2 workshops and you have experience please consider joining us. This will be an engaging\, fun and creative clay class that you’re sure to learn from and come away with an amazing sculpture and a new appreciation for 3 dimensional art.  \n\n\n\nAbout the Instructor\, Deborah Mae Corona:As a sculptural artist\, I enjoy the process from the initial concept to the finished piece and the evolution that inevitably occurs during the making. I have had the extreme pleasure of being mentored by world class artists like Eric Blome\, Anne Stryke and Wanxin Zhang to name a few\, whom I credit with the trajectory of my career. I received my master’s of fine art from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In a city with a history rich and diverse in both art and culture taught me that skills are important but so is the intuitive aspect that comes from years of practice. It is ingrained that an artist’s job is to interpret the world around them\, but more important is that art is a universal language that the viewer doesn’t need to necessarily know or speak that the art should speak for itself. With that mindset\, I strive to impart that wisdom through my teaching. Art is invaluable\, it matters and that’s my goal. \n\n\n\nDates\, times and fees are a follows:April 16\, 23\, 30\, May 7 and 14These classes will be on Thursday’s from 5:30 – 9:30pmThe first 3 classes will be building and May 7th will be the glazing class.***Saturday April 25th will be a make-up – catch-up class which you will need to sign up for and is included in the price of this workshop. The last class period 5/14 will be the final critique and picking up your completed work. This final class will be approx. an hour. The cost for this class is $150 and includes all materials\, instruction and firings to complete the projects. A $20 lab fee will be collected the first day of class to the instructor. \n\n\n\nSouth Building – Pottery Studio449 W KING STCARSON CITY\, NV \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Related
