CARSON CITY

— Music and Comedy to ring in 2020 at Carson Nugget. Ring in 2020 with the Deception, delivering classic rock at it’s best from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today at the Carson Nugget in Carson City from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Ahead of the band and rock and roll new year's party, comedian Leslie Townsend, star of Casino Boss, will perform at the The Carson Comedy Club beginning at 8 p.m. Go here for more information.

— Celebrate New Year’s at Casino Fandango with The Lost Reverends of the High Sierra. Come celebrate the new year with popular local band, The Lost Reverends of the High Sierra in the Cabaret in Casino Fandango, 3800 South Carson St., New Year’s Eve from 9:00PM until 1:00AM. There is no cover charge and Casino Fandango is well known for their award winning buffet, restaurants and atmosphere. — New Year’s Eve Celebration with Pawnshop at Living the Good Life. Beginning at 8 p.m. Living the Good Life Nightclub-Bistro-Lounge at 1480 N. Carson Street will be hosting Pawnshop for some good ol’ rock ’n’ roll to ring in the new year. The cost is $75 per person for a table for the evening, which includes a champagne toast, party favors, three course dinner of caesar salad, New York steak and lobster, scallop potatoes and fresh green beans, ending with croissant bread pudding served with ice cream.

The Eleventh Frame Lounge at Carson Lanes will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Country Dance Party beginning at 6 p.m., located at 4600 Snyder Avenue.

— New Year’s Eve 2020 at South Lake Brewing Company. Celebrate the new decade with South Lake Brewing Company. Come dressed in 1920’s attire and ring in the New Year 20’s prohibition style and enjoy two events in one night.

At 6:30 p.m. a private drinking and dining experience at the brewery speakeasy style will be held; SLBC will be closed to the general public for a couple of hours and decked out in art deco, boa feathers, fake chandeliers and the like. A 39-year-old man was booked into jail Tuesday for a felony warrant alleging battery resulting in substantial bodily harm following an incident at a local bar in March, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

Healthy Communities meets in Silver Springs Thursday April 11

SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. — Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties’ April breakfast meeting is Thursday, April 11 at 9 a.m. Guest speakers will give presentations on Shriners Hospitals for Children, as well as Medicare.

A 37-year-old man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and prohibited person in possession of a firearm, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

UPDATE: Hannah Nemirow, reported as a runaway was located in Las Vegas and is safe, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office. She will be returning home to her family.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a runaway teen from the Dayton area.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will host a virtual meeting and in-person public meetings to gather public feedback on proposed options for improving U.S. 395 between southern Carson City and the Nevada-California border at Topaz Lake.
