The Board of Lyon County Commissioners began the new year Thursday by changing the leadership of the County Commission. Commissioner Ken Gray, serving his second term, was voted as the Board Chairman for 2022. Commissioner Vida Keller, having served as Board Chair for the past two years was voted as the Vice-Chair. Both Commissioners are in their second terms as commissioners and have previously served in leadership roles for the Board.

An 18-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of felony possession of marijuana for sale, and other drug related offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team booking report.

Carson City is accepting letters of intent to apply for its Community Support Services Grant. Carson City non-profit organizations and government agencies are qualified to fill out the letter of intent. Projects or programs must be for Carson City residents. In addition, agency proposals must meet one of the following critical needs of the community:

An 18-year-old California man was booked into Carson City Jail for felony warrant charges stemming from a Sept. 7 shooting and subsequent pursuit that led to the arrests of three others.
