Technical error causes lockdown notice false alarm at Carson City's Seeliger Elementary
An off-site technical error is to blame for an emergency notification that briefly placed Seeliger Elementary School into lockdown Wednesday morning, according to the Carson City School District.
According to district spokesman Daniel Davis, its Raptor Emergency system notified administration and office staff to place Seeliger into a lockdown. This required the school to have all staff and students locked down into the nearest secured location until the situation had been resolved.
"Fortunately, within 10 minutes we were able to determine that the notification was due to an off-site application error. Once we verified it was a false alarm we removed the lockdown status and resumed school as normal," according to Davis. "Again, alll students and staff are doing well and have resumed their normal schedule."
