Did you feel it? Earthquake shakes near Fernley, felt around Carson City region
A 3.7 magnitude earthquake centered southwest of Fernley shook the region on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Nevada Seismological Laboratory. There was also a large earthquake with a 5.1 magnitude, that happened this afternoon close to Mina, Nev., near Hawthorne.
The earthquake near Fernley registered as a 3.77 magnitude, struck at around at 3:10 p.m. and was felt from the Stagecoach area of Lyon County and into the Carson City region.
There's no reports of damage or injuries.
The earthquake reported near Mina, Nev. was reported at 3:32 p.m. and registered as a 5.1. It was centered 15.8 miles south of Mina. Go here for the earthquake statistics and findings from UNR's Seismological Laboratory.
