A Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of burglary after allegedly stealing money from a local dry cleaning business, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

The Kiwanis Club of Carson City is hosting its annual Pasta Feed to benefit Meals on Wheels Carson City this Saturday, April 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive.

Tickets are $6, and include pasta, garlic bread, salad, beverage and dessert. Kids under 5 eat free.

Carson City’s Papa John’s Pizza, part of the national chain, is now closed, according to a sign on the front of the building which reads, “Closed. Thank you to all our patrons.”

Reno’s Renown Medical Center has branched into the capital city with its new Urgent Care, located at 2814 N. Carson Street next to the Eagle Valley Medical Center.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new location Tuesday morning. In addition, according to Mark Beauchamp of Shahren Beauchamp Builders, who were the general contractors on the Urgent Care, a Primary Care Facility will be opening mid-May in South Carson, near Starbucks.

CARSON CITY — Carson High School teachers and support staff were surprised this morning at their regularly scheduled 7 a.m. faculty meeting in the library before classes began. A total of $10,000, parceled out in individual envelopes containing $50 bills, sat neatly organized on a table across the room. Every teacher, custodian, kitchen worker, counselor, para pro and faculty member was given $50 to “Pay It Forward.”

CARSON CITY — Carson Tahoe Health is proud to announce the completion of a recent renovation to the emergency department triage area. The newly designed space maximizes resources for quick care (testing and treatment) and serves as a monitored, internal waiting area. CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshal Division, is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect believed to be involved in a recent fire in the Fernley area.

Some of the Carson High School Comprehensive Life Skills staff are seen wearing their shirts that celebrate Autism Awareness Month. April is designated to raise awareness of students and adults alike who are living their lives with autism. The staff will wear their shirts every Tuesday in the month of April.
