Thanksgiving Heroes: Carson City school students served lunch by firefighters, officers
Celebrating an early Thanksgiving holiday on the Thursday before Turkey Day was a treat for hundreds of Seeliger Elementary students as members of the Carson City Fire Department, Sheriff’s Department and School Resource Officers served up lunch.
The "Thanksgiving with a Hero" event was hosted by the Carson City School District's Nutrition Program.
“The event is designed to engage students with first responders in a positive and safe environment,” said Chris Cooper, nutrition coordinator for the Carson City School District. “It allows them to become acquainted with and feel more comfortable to talk more openly and freely with concerns they may have.”
