2021 Nevada Day Carnival at Mills Park is canceled this year
The Nevada Day Carnival at Mills Park in Carson City will not be happening this year due to non-COVID related reasons, according to organizers.
Like most Carson City carnivals, the Nevada Day Carnival, generally held at Mills Park during Nevada Day weekend, is put on entirely by the Nevada Rural Counties Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, also known as RSVP, which helps provide access to services for Nevada’s senior population.
The carnival was canceled last year, along with the official parade, due to concerns over COVID-19. However, this year the cause for the cancellation is not COVID related.
Organizers have not stated the reason for the cancellation at the time of publication. We will update with further information as it becomes available.
However, the rest of Nevada Day’s events will be continuing as planned, from the Nevada Day Parade to the Rock Drilling Competition, the morning 5K, Beard Contest, and much more.
See the Nevada Day website here for information about this week's activities, events and more.
