Carson City’s Trick or Treating will take place on Halloween this year, Sunday, Oct. 31.
In addition to the traditional house-by-house event, there are other events as well to dress up and get pounds of tooth-cracking candy and healthy treats, too!

Thursday, Oct. 28
The Carson City BOOnanza is back again for its 5th year, manned by local businesses and organizations volunteering their time (and candy!) all in one location.
The BOOnanza this year will take place outside at Mills Park, which will also involve carnival games, crafts at the Carson City Library, spooks from Youth Theatre Carson City, and the Mills Park Train will be operating for $2 per person. Go here for more information.
Saturday, Oct. 30
The Dayton Library will be having a Trunk-or-Treat event on Saturday, October 30 from 4:30-6:30PM. The event will be held in the parking lot of the library at 321 Old Dayton Valley Rd, Dayton, Nev. Community members will be decorating their cars and the library will provide bags of candy for each decorated car to hand out. For those attending, they will be able to walk from each car and get candy.
The Dayton Library is currently taking applications for those who would like to participate by decorating their cars for the event.

Sunday, Oct. 31
— As per tradition, the Governor and the First Lady will be passing out candy to trick or treaters at the Governor's Mansion, from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at 606 Mountain St. Decorations an be viewed at the mansion all month long this now through the end of the month. Entertainment during the event will include fire dancers.
Only individuals/groups who are wearing a cloth or surgical mask will be able to get a photo with the Governor and First Lady. All children will be allowed to approach the Governor and First Lady to trick-or-treat. Non-masked parents will be required to maintain six feet of distance from the Governor and First Lady.
Signage will be posted at the beginning of the line advising of mask requirements for photos. Another sign will be posted requesting social distancing for unmasked parents while kids are trick-or-treating.

Trick or Treating in the Carson Mall, located at 1305 S. Carson Street, starts at 4 p.m. with candy and bags provided to the first 300 children.
This is a first-come, first-served event. Please enter on the East side of the mall by Joann’s through the door marked “Registration.”
— Common Ground Church, located at 2310 S. Carson St. No. 4, is hosting a Trunk or Treat from 4:30-6 p.m. on Halloween. Free hot chocolate and apple cider and tons of candy will be available to all.
