Donor through Carson City Rotary gives $200K worth of air purifiers to local teachers
The Rotary Club of Carson City has donated over 800 air purifiers to Carson City teachers to help with the stress of being in the classroom during COVID-19.
Each Winix Air Purifier is valued at over $250, putting the total value donated at over $200,000.
The money and donation was funded from an anonymous donor. The purifiers were designated as a gift to the teachers and staff and can be used any way the teacher or staff member would like, whether in the classroom or at home, said Rotary Club President Rachelle Resnick.
“The goal was to thank teachers and staff for everything that they’re doing for students and our community during this crisis,” she continued. “The purifiers may help keep them safe during the COVID crisis, and sometimes that means taking the purifiers home.”
Teachers and staff will receive their individual air purifiers at 11 a.m. at Carson High School this Monday.
