Carson City arrest update: Pair jailed for alleged robbery in drug deal that turned violent
Two are in custody and face multiple charges related to an armed robbery that happened early Tuesday morning, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office captain.
Arrested at a traffic stop in the area of Long Street and Rand Avenue were Denisse Robles, 26, and Christopher Mendoca, 24. They were taken into custody for suspicion of robbery and other charges, said CCSO Capt. Brian Humphrey.

On Tuesday at around 2:25 a.m. Carson City Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a robbery that happened in the 2600 block of Highway 50 East. When deputies arrived they located one male subject who had been the victim of a robbery. Detectives responded to the scene and continued the investigation while the victim received medical attention, said Capt. Humphrey.
It was learned that the victim was part of an illegal drug transaction taking place that turned into a robbery. The victim was struck numerous times with an object by one male suspect and a second male suspect displayed a gun, said Humphrey regarding the investigation.
During the investigation detectives identified two suspects in the case and began tracking them. At around 10:50 a.m. detectives and patrol deputies with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Long Street near Rand.
Arrested were Denisse Robles, 26, of Carson City. She faces charges of robbery, possession of controlled substance for sales, possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, and possession of stolen property.
Also arrested was Christopher Mendoca 24. He faces charges of robbery, battery with deadly weapon causing substantial harm, possession of stolen property, and Nevada State probation violation. Bail is $40,000 for new charges. He's being held without bail on the probation violation charge.
This investigation is still active and detectives are currently looking for additional subjects involved in the robbery.
