— A 34-year-old Carson City woman, April Lynn White, was arrested following an investigation into an incident Tuesday in which she allegedly hit her boyfriend over the head with a metal bar.
According to the booking report, deputies responded on Sept. 21 to a residence in the 1900 block of North Fall Street. Officers located the female suspect, who had fled the scene, in the area of David Street and North Stewart Street.
Paramedics responded to treat the injured victim. Officers observed swelling behind the man's ear and blood coming from inside the right ear. He was taken to the hospital. Before being transported he gave deputies permission to speak with his minor children about the incident. Two children spoke, saying they witnessed their "mother" hit their "father" over the head with a metal pole, the report states.
Deputies located the metal object the woman allegedly used to strike the man as a crank-like tool used to lower and raise their trailer. The woman was arrested. She gave deputies consent to view "Ring" doorbell camera footage from her phone. In the video, the woman is seen arguing with the man, and then hitting him over the head with the metal crank, the report states. The man is heard yelling in pain and one of the minor children is running frantically toward him stating, "daddy are you OK?"
Officers interviewed the victim at the hospital who provided more information regarding events leading up to the battery.
With video of the incident, interviews and statements, the woman was booked into Carson City Jail for suspicion of domestic battery with a deadly weapon. Bail: $15,000.
— A 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, 10:08 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Edmonds for misdemeanor suspicion domestic battery and probation violation.
According to the booking report, the suspect and her ex-boyfriend got into a verbal altercation in which the woman threw coffee on the ex-boyfriend.
The suspect told the deputy that the man then wrapped his arms around her, attempting to calm her down when the two fell to the ground and began to wrestle, the report states. The woman stated the man punched her in the lip. A deputy observed what appeared to be a bruise on her lip. However, the woman said the bruise came from a cold sore that began to appear prior to Wednesday.
Officers interviewed the ex-boyfriend who stated the woman threw coffee at him, and that he did wrap his arms around her in an attempt to calm her down. In the process, the two fell to the floor. The officer observed bruising on his forehead and did not observe any bruising on his hands. The deputy asked the man if he punched the woman in the face. The man replied "no" and was also able to confirm the woman had a cold sore on her lip.
During the investigation, a deputy observed coffee on the outside portion of the door, and the man's shirt, which was located on the floor and saturated with coffee. Dispatch informed the arresting deputy that the woman was on probation and her probation officer wanted to place a probation hold on her.
Deputies determined the woman to be the primary aggressor and she was taken into custody. Bail amount for battery, $3,000; no bail hold for probation violation.
