Public comment open for Costco Wholesale air quality operating permit in Carson City
The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Air Pollution Control (BAPC) has entered the public notice period for a new Class II Air Quality Operating Permit for Costco Wholesale, located in Carson City.
The public comment period is from Sept. 14, 2018 to Oct. 15, 2018.
The BAPC has reviewed the application and has made a preliminary determination to issue a new permit for the facility, which is located at 700 Old Clear Creek Road in Carson City.
The Costco site in Carson City has three 20,000-gallon underground storage tanks (UST), one 40,000-gallon gasoline UST and one 1,500-gallon fuel additive UST.
Gasoline vapors are controlled by submerged filling of the USTs, and a vapor recovery system.
The proposed project will not cause or contribute to a violation of any federal or State of Nevada air quality standards.
Persons wishing to comment regarding this proposed action should submit their comments to Keri Foster, P.E., Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Air Pollution Control, 901 S. Stewart Street, Suite 4001, Carson City, NV 89701.
