Convict who walked away from Carson City prison in August recaptured in Reno
A minimum-security inmate that walked away from the Stewart Conservation Camp on August 18 has been recaptured as of Sept. 11.
According to the Nevada Department of Corrections, James Park, 50, was arrested Wednesday just after 10 p.m. after a confrontation with a security guard at an RV park in Reno.
After the confrontation, Park and the security guard were both transported to the hospital.
Park is serving a 12-36 month sentence for attempted burglary and uttering a forged instrument.
He arrived at the Nevada Department of Corrections from Washoe County on June 12 before being transferred to the Stewart Conservation Camp.
It is unknown at this time how his escape will affect his prison time.
